TOKYO NIGHTS
Old traditions meet the modern world when cherry trees blossom under neon lights

Spring in Japan is marked by rolling landscapes covered in the sweet scent of Sakura cherry blossom. The ancient tradition of Hanmai, or ‘flower viewing’, celebrates the transient where groups of friends and dog walkers meet under the blossom trees to appreciate their fleeting beauty. In big cities, new generations have Hanmai at night-time and these Yozakura, or ‘night Sakura parties’, see hundreds of party goers spill out of neon-lit streets to string paper lanterns from the cherry trees and party late in to the night. This fragrance begins with the delicate floral scent of Sakura layered with a citrus spike of Japanese yuzu and may chang before the seductive and spicy scent of night blossoming orchid opens up to tantalise the senses
